Kingston Wadokai works hard in the community in supporting those who are disadvantaged, on low incomes, low skilled with lesser opportunities, NEETs, abused, the vulnerable and those who are disengaged from society.
Kingston Wadokai aims to offer young people and adults of all levels and abilities a variety of sporting activities/self-defense techniques and transferring those learnt essential skills from a physical practical session into formal/non-formal classroom-based environment to enhance soft skills for sustainable employability and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Kingston Wadokai promotes empowerment and inclusion, therefore, encourages young people and adults not only to improve their health, physical literacy but also to add to capital value to their professional, personal development and supporting their integration within their communities and becoming good citizens.
The sessions delivered are fun, adaptable and provide a safe way to empower the participants by strengthening friendships, communities and changing self-perceptions of people from different cultural and, economic backgrounds.
Kingston Wadokai offers martial arts and self-defense workshops in parallel with nonformal learning methodologies for anti-bullying, employability, and empowering women. Bullying - Participants explore the benefits and psychosocial threats of social media and how to combat fake news and populism through critical thinking.
Employability - we develop the soft skills required to enhance employability and Empowering Women - we offer inclusive martial arts and self-defence programme combined with non-formal learning and exploration of self-identity.
Through the presence of Kingston Wadokai within education settings including schools and colleges we encourage the sport and physical activity where young people can explore, invent, and create their future selves. We promote an environment where young people can develop their social skills, learn to express their emotions and gain confidence in their own capabilities.
