FISO - COMITATO REGIONALE LOMBARDO (FISO LOMBARDIA / Italy )
It is the body responsible for promoting orienteering in Lombardy and enhancing its image, giving greater impetus to the promotion and dissemination of the discipline through institutional activities and competitive results, in order to increase its practice through an ever
increasing number of users.

MISSION
aims to provide an important contribution to the healthy development of sports and
environmental c ulture through:
• educational activities, such as the training of technicians, teachers and school children;
• competitive activities such as the organization of promotional and federal events
• cultural activities with exhibitions and conferences, encoura
ging at the same time the development of scholastic, sport and cultural tourism.
In Lombardy, there are 14 amateur sports associations / societies affiliated to the Lombardy Regional Committee of the FISO (Italian Federation of Sport Orientation) which counts 479
people registered among athletes, managers and technicians. According to current data, the number of regist ered members in Lombardy in 2018 fell by 9% compared to 2013, and at national level sees a decrease of 13.6% in contrast with the growth that this sport is experiencing at European level where according to the latest statistics there are about 2 million practitioners grouped in more than 1,400 companies.

As always registered by the FISO, in 2017 in Lombardy there were 12 regional events with the overall involvement of about 1,200 participants and 15 promotional events (with a variable catchment area, but estimated between 2,500 and 3,500 participations in total)
