#SportDiplomacyAcademy presented to Deputy Minister of youth and sport

The Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Nikolay Pavlov held three working meetings with youth organizations that are members of the Public Council for Youth Affairs at the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS).

On behalf of the Bulgarian sports development association (BSDA) – the chairwoman of BSDA Yoanna Dochevska and Konstantin Zankov from the Management Board of the organization were present. During the conversation, the interaction of BSDA with youth and sports, the volunteering, as well as major programs were discussed. Yoanna Dochevska shared that the latest project they are working on is the Sports Diplomacy Academy, which aims to ensure the educational mobility of coaches and other employees of sports organizations (including volunteers) related to professional and grassroots sports.

The second meeting was attended by Veselina Yurukova – President of the Omega Association, Kardzhali. She presented to Deputy Minister Pavlov the activities of the organization and pointed out their main goals, which are related to the implementation of good practices in all fields of public life with regard to the development of young people. Nikolay Pavlov focused on the new National Strategy for Youth after 2020, as Kardzhali is one of the next towns to be discussed in.

Nikolay Pavlov also held a meeting with the National Alliance for Work with Volunteers (NAWV), Plovdiv, represented by Vera Mihailova, as well as with volunteers from the same organization. Mihaylova hilighted that the main mission of the foundation is entirely related to volunteering, and so far there are 52 volunteer centers across the country. She added that NAWV is developing the ValidVol platform, which aims to support the process of certification and validation of the skills acquired through the participation of young people in volunteering.

Deputy Minister Pavlov reaffirmed the priorities of the MYS in the Youth sector, which are improving the quality of life of young people in the country. Meetings with youth organizations are forthcoming throughout the week.
